Milanesa & Rice
Fried Breaded Steak

Ingredients
Milanesa -
- 1 package Flank steak
(6-8 pieces)
- 1/2 Cup Flour
- 3 EggsÂ
- 2 Cups Crushed Corn flakes or Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Oil for frying
Rice -Â
- 1/4 Onion; chopped
- 1 tsp Bacon fat
- 1 Cup Rice
- 1/2 Cup corn kernels
- 1/2 Cup Carrot pieces
- pinch of saltÂ
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup Tomato juiceÂ
Preparation
Milanesa Directions:
Remove flank steak from the packaging, pat dry with a paper towel. Add salt and pepper to both sides and set aside while preparing the dipping.
- Crack eggs in a shallow container, big enough to lay the steak in. Scramble eggs with a fork or whisk; set aside.
- In another shallow container, add in your Breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Coat steak on both sides with flour
- Dip steak in Eggs, and turn to coat both sides.
- Place the steak into the breadcrumb dish, and coat both sides with breadcrumbs to cover the entire steak, transfer to a plate until all steaks are coated.
- Add Oil to the frying pan and turn to Medium heat.
- Once the oil is heated; add Breaded Steaks to the heated oil, working in batches.
- Check steak while frying; when it's golden brown on the bottom, turn to fry the other side.
- Remove and place in a heat-safe dish.
Rice preparation:
- Add Bacon fat and chopped onions to a saucepan, set to medium heat, and fry until onions are translucent. Stirring occasionally.
- Add Rice, stir, and brown rice slightly. Stirring occasionally, to avoid burning.
- Add in Corn, carrots, a pinch of salt, water, and Tomato juice. Stir and cover.
- Cook for 5 minutes on medium-low or as directed on the rice package.
- Fluff with a fork and serve hot.
