Chili

Makes:

6-8

Ingredients

• 1 TBSP olive oil

• 1 medium yellow onion -diced

• 1/2 Bell pepper; pieces

• 1 cup carrots; shredded

• 2 cups ground beef; cooked 

• 3 cups pinto beans; cooked, undrained

• 2 TBSP chili powder

• 2 tsp ground cumin

• 2 TBSP brown sugar

• 1/2 TBSP garlic powder

• 1 1/2 tsp salt

• 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

• 1 cup water

• 1 cup tomato sauce

Preparation

- In a large stove pot, over medium high heat; sauté the onions, peppers, and shredded carrots in the Olive oil until onions are turning translucent.

- Add in the cooked beef and beans. Mix to incorporate. 

- mix all the spices in a separate bowl, stir spices into mixture. 

- Add water and tomato sauce. 

- Stir to incorporate all ingredients. Cover the pot and bring it to a boil. Once boiling; turn down heat and simmer for 10 minutes. 

- Serve chili hot with your favorite sides, like cornbread or a corndog.
