Apple Pie rolls
cream cheese frosting + caramel drizzle

Ingredients
Ingredients for Dough:
•1.5 TBSP yeast
•1/2 cup + 1 tsp sugar
•1 cup water (110°F)
•1 cups warm milk
•1/2 cup melted butter
•1/2 tsp salt
•2 eggs; beaten
•1 tsp apple pie spiceÂ
•6-7 cups flour
Filling:
•3 apples; cubed
•2 TBSP butter
•2 cups brown sugar
•1 TBSP apple pie spice
•1/8 tsp salt
•1/4 cup cornstarchÂ
*In a large sauce pan; mix ingredients over medium high heat while stirring occasionally, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and cook for 5 min. Take of heat and set aside.
Topping:
• 1 cup whipping cream
• 1/2 cup powdered sugarÂ
• 1 tsp vanilla extractÂ
• 1 block of cream cheese; room temperatureÂ
*Whip together cream and extract until soft peaks form, whip in cream cheese until smooth.
Caramel drizzle:
• 1 cup sugarÂ
• butter
• whipping cream
• 1/4 tsp vanilla extractÂ
*Heat granulated sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat without stirring. Once melted to a light amber, stir in butter until combined. Slowly add heavy cream, allowing it to boil for 1 minute without stirring. Remove from heat, add extract, and stir until smooth.
Preparation
- In a container, mix together; yeast, 1 tsp sugar and warm water (110°F) and set aside to proof.
- In a separate bowl mix together; milk, melted butter, salt, beaten eggs, apple pie spice, sugar, and 3 cups of flour
- Add in proofed yeast, mix until well combined, and continue adding in flour, 1 cup at a time.
- Dough a will be slightly sticky; cover, set in a warm spot, and let rise 1 hour, double in size. Pre-Heat oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheet/pan, apple filling, frosting, and drizzle.
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, ¾ inch thick.
- Spread on the prepared apple filling,
tightly roll dough up, and place seam side down.
- Cut into 1 inch sections with a serrated knife, place in the prepared baking sheets/pan cover with plastic wrap and towel, and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Remove towel and plastic, bake at 350°F for 15-17min, golden brown edges. Cool slightly.Â
- Spread on the Cream Cheese frosting and drizzle with caramel.
